Poll Question:
Now we are ready to begin the quest to find the best doom metal song of the past decade.

77 songs have been nominated, so in this first round there will be 10 polls, and after this round we will end up with 32 songs. So number 1, 2 and 3 from each poll will proceed, and when all 10 polls are done I will compare all songs ending up in 4th place and pick the two songs with the highest percentage of votes.

The songs have been randomly put into 10 groups with consideration of three factors:

- Songs, which have been nominated more than once, can't go in the same group (there were five of them).

- There can't be more than one song from each band in one group.

- Neither will there be more than one song, which have been nominated by the same person in one group.

Very good songs and it was close, but I chose The 11th Hour. I love that sound and it's also, of course, a great song! Sign of the devil dude!

I chose Monolithe. Curiously my original draft of nominations actually included that particular Monolithe song but I removed it from the final list because I figured it might be too long to be included. So imagine my surprise seeing it in the first poll. Sign of the devil dude!

I am going with Cathedral, because North Berwick Witch Trials is such a great song. Followed very closely by The 11th hour, Novembers Doom and Electric Wizard ... deciding in that genre is very tough.

BTW I would also be interested in hearing the full Monolithic Song

I think you'll find that the FULL version is 50 mins not 10 mins long. Tongue And that one track comprises the ENTIRE album itself Sign of the devil dude!
