Thanks for your input guys. We'll soon be into the 1980's and the advent of true heavy metal. It should get easier with the introduction of alot more well known metal bands so, hopefully, you'll be able to post more comprehensive lists and more people will begin to take part. You know if the both of us landed on a deserted Island - with noting but tons of batteries and a ghetto blaster and our iPods - things would work out just fine Smile

Interesting choice at no. 9 Sorti. Although I know Al Di Meola's reputation as a guitarist I've only heard a couple things by him and I've never heard that particular album. Maybe I should investigate further. Sign of the devil dude!

Cool. It's a great album that gets overlooked by most metal fans who can't see beyond the punk connection. Take away the punk attitude and Johnny Rotten's affected vocal delivery though and you are left with an excellent hard rock album. Sign of the devil dude!

Well, metal is just my favorite style. I've got Johnny Cash and Kraftwerk on that list too Wink But sure, it's my general opinion that without punk - notably Sex Pistols and Iggy Pop - thrash metal would not have evolved. Just listen to the Undisputed Attitude-album by Slayer or Metallica's Garage Inc.. Grin

Well taste is an individual thing but personally I would put just about everything on all the lists here before Meat Loaf but I can see why other people like him. Actually I was more surprised to see number 15 on the list, one of the most ridiculed artists of my youth Grin But then again, maybe Thor has aged well, I have not heard it for ages Smile

Well this was one of my favorite albums before I started listening to metal. And it is one of those, I'll never get tired of. Funny thing though, I find everything else he made completely crap Grin
