If my memory serves me correctly "Bat Out of Hell" was the biggest selling album of 1977. It was something of a sleeper at first then took off like a rocket on the back of the video for the title track and sold somewhere between 3 and 4 million copies. Personally I love the title track but that and "Dead Ringer for Love" are about the only Meat Loaf songs I can listen to.

According to wikipedia Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" was the best-selling album in the US and the UK. And for once I agree with the general public Grin

It is not as much Meat Loaf as it is the material he has to work with not to mention the dreadful production that makes it nearly impossible for me to sit through the whole album, but yes Dead Ringer for Love is a very good track.

That's what you get for relying on your memory instead of Google Smile

Well, I admit it was a hugely popular album. But the only thing Meatface did that I like is his part in "The Commitments" Grin

My sentiments exactly.

Bat out of Hell has never left the charts in some countries. It is the longest charting album ever.
