The queue loads fine for me. Are people experiencing ungodly response times loading it? |

No one likes to have an archival history of SnakeNet more then I do. I hate that we don't have access to everything, but it is far more important for people to be able to use the forum today, then look at what was posted yesterday, right?
Worth noting no data is lost. Perhaps when I have time I can write some code to generate a static HTML archive of the forums we can publish that won't hammer the servers when you browse them...

I agree with Brack and Aga on the date/icon display.
I knew you would I'll fix it when there aren't a million other more 'functional' things to solve

I noticed that now I can post once every 30 seconds..
Well if that cuts down post-pumping, post-whoring, chat and perving and saves teh server some load, perhaps it's a good thing? More content, less fluff might keep the boards faster

Hmmm thre's a problem with the "Active Topic Since Last Login" thingie. When i hit Metal Lounge --> Forum --> Active i still get all the topics even if the last response is from before i hit the "mark all topics as read" button.
Weird. |

With the old forum, after hitting the "Mark all as read" button there was no entry in the active topics immediately afterwards.
With the new forum there are up to a handful.
Just as an additional observation...

I only ever view the active topics, and haven't looked around much...but I'm not noticing alot of visual changes. Only thing I noticed was the speed. People sure complain alot around here. ;[
The minor changes I do notice are all improvements. Great work Mike, thanks. |

Yes it was a joke about the length of the queue, the whole site
seems to be loading very fast now....

I think its better like this, rather then worse.. The old threads were quite ionteresting but its easier for newer members, including myself to catch up and keep track of what goes on here.. |

Ok, today I observed it as well.
I clicked on "mark all as read" before I went offline.
And today I got a lot of threads in the "active topic list since last login" that are older than the updated time stamp. |

Which I confirmed
And my other post was just the same symptom I guess. The last read post markers seem to be incorrect.

No, the markers were correct. I'd give you the technical reason, but no-one ever understands. It's to do with the date formated strings snitz uses versus the SQL date type.
Anyway, I've fixed it. |

although i miss some of the old threads, i think its great that we can start fresh with the new year. there was so much lame crap slowing the boards down, it was good to get rid of the baggage. too bad though we still have some lame members who will continue posting retarded crap, oh well.
for the quick reply, i love that we can preview our post now. the forums really are super fast now, but i wonder if thats because of the optimization features or because there is hardly any content to weigh it down. in any case, mike you kick new levels of ass. but dont ask me for boobie pics.
Hey! I don't call your crap retarded!

What's wrong with the Request Queue?
It's been the same for a few days and will not accept my requests: "Unable to connect to request server". Plus the Now Playing Window keeps showing Chinchilla. |

I always get a kick of people that complain they can't request and don't realize the stream is down and they couldn't hear it anyway. |
