Depends on where the hotel is, Penix. If you ain't in drunken stumbling distance of the club, cab fare will kill you. Hotels run about $150-200/night. |

We stayed at the Tremont [Plaza, I think, there are two Tremonts] It was a nice place very close to the venue.

Yeah, Tremont is where I was too (didn't actually pay for it, just crashed on the floor of some friends' hotel), but its location was absolutely ideal. Three blocks walking distance. Although that could even be annoying sometimes considering it was hot as FUCK that weekend. |

Some of us are really crazy and stay in a neighboring state. Wait a minute, that's probably just me. |

You're not alone. A friend of mine made the trek from his folks' house in Fairfax va to baltimore, and back each day. Which isn't TOO bad, but for all three days....sheeeit. |

Once upon a time I would've been excited like a little school girl about Watain playing, but for fucks sakes their last album has been WAY overplayed. I had the misfortune of coming into possession of that album about a year before everybody here in Richmond discovered it and started playing the shit out of it 24/7 after I had already done so for a year. And people are still playing the shit out of it! What I once liked I've now come to quite practically hate, GAH |

To be quite honest, I must say, aside from some of the old school Death Metal bands I'm not to crazy about this years line up. I was kinda hoping they would have few decent Black Metal bands like they did last year.
Last year the line up was awesome and I thought there was no way they could top that. Sadly I think I'm right.
Either way I'm gonna try my best to go. |

Yeah, you could top last year's lineup. Replace Atheist and Destroyer 666 with Jungle Rot and Estuary.

Idunno, there are a LOT more black metal bands on the billing this year, just smaller names and some "experimental" black metal bands. Sadly, none of these bands are norwegian...I'm hoping for a big one, but who knows. Anyways, I'm pretty happy with the lineup and it even beats last year's for me personally. Sodom and Gorguts alone make it worthwhile to me. |

Yeah, I was hoping for some bigger names, but I'm sure there are a good amount of bands that I can enjoy. I just have yet to discover them. Discovering new music is one of the reasons I like to go these things. Only problem with that is often times I'm too drunk to remember the names of the bands I like. Still fun though. |

I unfortunately am declaring myself as a Y'OUT, for MDF. I've got a wedding to go to that weekend. This of course would be in line with my "every other year" pattern for MDF. |

I didn't. Some one I know did. If I were to get married, I would hopefully have enough sway with the would-be missus to not do it the weekend of Maryland Deathfest
